The Princess Theatre on Main Street contained 300 seats, opened in 1916 as a silent movie house with the film "Tennessee's Partner". It continued to show movies until the mid-1980s, followed by a brief use as a country and western playhouse. The theater was purchased in 2003 by Dave Kraft and Susan and Kris Spaulding.
The theater reopened on Friday, August 6, 2004. It had been 22 years since a movie was shown at the Princess. The building was completely remodeled. Installed were a new screen, 158 new seats, JBL speakers for stereo-surround system, and Century projector.
In the fall of 2006, Mike Hanafin purchased the theater. It was initially leased, but the Hanafin family took over operation of the business on July 30, 2007. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
