Information for this tour was contributed by John Schmidt.

The Midwest was constructed out of the burned-out hull of the Egyptian Theater, which burned in 1945. The Midwest opened on April 24, 1946, and was once owned by a man named Ostenberg who sold his theaters to Commonwealth Theaters in the early 1960s.
