The Jackson Mall Cinema stopped appearing in the Jackson Clarion-Ledger as an Ogden Perry movie theatre after business on 3/1/1983.

An article in the 7/1/1987 edition of the Clarion-Ledger reported that United Cinemas of America was operating the theatre and "using a trained guard dog to walk the aisles and calm boisterous youth audiences." An article published on 7/20 said they stopped using the dog as it violated the terms of their lease. The youths became rowdy once more.
