Thr Southington Drive-In had two screens and an 1,100 car capacity when it closed as a commercial enterprise in 2002. The town of Southington then bought the land and demolished the original screen and the concession stand/projection booth. The newer screen was left standing. The drive-in reopened on June, 26, 2010. It now shows classic movies on Saturday nights under the auspices of the town recreation department. The first movie shown was "E.T."
