Information for this tour was contributed by Mark Cone. The Grand Theatre was opened in 1914 at 238 SW Main Street. In 1920 it was
renamed Palace Theatre. In 1934 the 800-seat facility was renamed Carolina
Theatre and mainly showed double feature westerns, a comedy such as the
Three Stooges, a serial, and at least 1 cartoon. The last year the theater
was listed in the City Directory was 1957, and in 1958 the building was
listed as a shoe store. Building is still there, but is currently vacant. Photos
