Mike Campbell's Premiere Cinemas opened this theatre in December 1986. Premiere operated the theatre until selling to Cinemark in 1989.

Cinemark Theatres operated this theater from 10/27/1989 to 11/9/1995.

Carmike Cinemas operated this theatre from 11/10/1995 and closed on 2/16/2012.

In May of 2012 Phoenix BIG Cinemas reopened the theatre and rechristened it the Capitol 3 Theatre.

It reopened by an independent operator in December 2021.
