An article appears in the November 29, 1976 issue of Boxoffice that announces the opening of this theatre.

An article in the 3/5/1989 edition of the Newark Advocate stated the theatre closed the previous month because of heating problems. The AMC district manager offered that for the theatre to reopen every heating and air conditioning unit would have to be replaced.
