The Franklin Theatre moved two doors north into this building in 1937 and opened on July 15 with the feature "Night Must Fall." The seating capacity was 600 on the main floor and 130 in the segregated balcony and admission was a dime for children and a quarter for adults. It closed on January 7, 2007 before eventually being restored and reopening in June of 2012.
