According to information from the June 1, 1994 edition of "The Capital":
Baltimore based Durkee Theatres closed the location in January of 1989. Reel Entertainment of Spokane, WA reopened the theatre in July of 1989 and closed it as of the article's printing in 1994. The article states that the Eastport Cinema had been the city's only theatre since 1983 when the Circle Theatre closed.
