Information for this tour was contributed by Mark Cone. Kress Cinemas was opened on Dec 7, 1995 (Pearl Harbor Day) in Hilo, HI, in the old warehouse of a former SH Kress Store (1932). The theatre was billed as the largest theatre on Hawaii's Big Island, and was the first theatre on that island to feature not only Ultra Stereo, but also SDDS sound. It's unique design, wood floors, and tin roof, made this facility very different.
Regal Entertainment Group acquired this theatre when they acquired Hollywood Theaters in April of 2013. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
