Information for this tour was contributed by Bill Enos. The Carillon was built in the mid-1930s and operated by the Wilmer and Vincent chain. Always a sub run house, it seated around 400. It was closed in the early 1960s and became a small appliance repair and parts facility, then was empty for around 6 years before it was converted into small shops. All but one of the shops front on the side street, Colonial Ave. During the appliance shop period, the seats near the front of the auditorium were still present below the leveled floor and the proscenium was still there, too. On the last renovation, everything was removed. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
