Information for this tour was contributed by Kyle Fee. The Empire closed during the silent era, unable to compete with the more fashionable Washington and Orpheum theatres. After that it was used as an auditorium for graduations and the Quincy Community Theatre. Louise Brooks apparently appeared there live on New Year's Day 1924 with a traveling dance company. The building currently has been converted to apartments. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
