Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Roe. Located in the Downtown area of Macarthur Park, the Alvarado was re-modelled by architect S. Charles Lee in 1936. It was re-named Park Theatre in the 1960's and became an 'Adult' cinema. In the 1970's it reverted back to showing regular release movies and was twinned. After closing in the summer of 1986, it was totally gutted and was converted into a retail market.
