Information for this tour was contributed by Matt Lutthans. This is a small, stadium-seating IMAX-type theatre, built to capitalize on tourists coming to see nearby Mt. St. Helens. Only problem is, it's hard to make much money running "The Eruption of Mt. St. Helens" continuously, so they mix in first-run blockbuster fare.
Despite the name, it is not a dome at all. For scope films, they mask off a large upper portion of the screen, and show the film along the bottom.
The theater closed after the last show on January 22, 2006. The last show was a 35mm presentation of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
