Information for this tour was contributed by Konrad Schiecke. The Rialto Theatre opened in 1919 with 2250 seats and was located on Main Street (now Galena Boulevard). It was a conversion of the Sylvandell Dance Hall, which was built in 1915. There was a bowling alley in the basement and a new pipe organ was installed in the theatre. In October 1928, the Rialto burned to the ground in what was termed the "million dollar fire." Return to the top of this page or Return to the main page
