Information for this tour was contributed by Konrad Schiecke & Mark Noller. The Momence theatre opened in the 1920s with 400 seats. It was located on Dixie Highway and closed in 1962. The building is still standing with the marquee removed.
On July 11, 2006, the Momence Theatre was purchased by the Momence Theatre Friends. They are raising funds for restoration and the return of film and performing arts to the beaux arts theatre.
