An article in the 8/6/1968 edition of the Kilgore News Herald reported that Jefferson Amusments and East Texas Theatres Inc had sold their operations to Golden Triangle Theatres Inc. The same article indicated that all theaters owned by Golden Triangle would be operated by Gulf States Theatres.
