An article in the 12/30/1990 edition of the Newark Advocate states the Midland was temporary closed in 1978 and that Mid-America was able to reopen it that year but that films were never shown on a regular basis after that. Another article in that same paper suggests that though they never operated it, AMC Theatres was responsible for maintaining this theatre. Photos
