Constructed by a group of five local citizens, The Cabana featured a series of second and third floor private viewing booths at the rear of the otherwise standard auditorium.
A second screen was built, opening 3/5/1976, referred to as Phase II. While this shared the same entrance and snack bar it was said to have a separate lobby.
Although the Cabana stopped showing features, an article in the Jackson Sun said due to a rush of product, Malco would continue to operate only the Phase II until the end of the year.
Directory ads show that both the Cabana and Phase II stopped screening films after 1/13/1991.
Malco acquired the pair of theatres in April of 1979 and operated them until their closure.
