Information for this tour was contributed by Konrad Schiecke. The New State Theatre located at 105 East Stephenson Street, opened in July 1948. It was brand new and built by four of the Marchesi Brothers: Gus, James, Joseph and August. In 1954, the owner of the Freeport leased the theater and continued to run it until 1964. In 1969, it was reopened by Greater States Corporation of Chicago. It continued to operate into the late 1980s when it closed. It has been demolished.
