Formerly the Moscow Cinema, the New Wave is now a Western-style theater which opened on January 1, 2000. The Television and Radio Company New Wave overhauled the Soviet-type movie house, which had wooden chairs and a bleak interior. The New Wave opened with "The World is Not Enough", which it won rights to play in a heated competition with the only other Western cinema in the area, Illusion. Mysteriously, twelve days into the run, a fire broke out in the building, causing the theater to close down for repairs. Return to the top of this page or Return to the main page
