Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Roe. The auditorium block of this magnificent movie palace was demolished in December 1978. Only the outer entrance lobby and the Gothic styled inner foyer were saved, and they are Listed as a historic building. In the place of the original auditorium Hoyts team of architects Lange L. Powell, Dods & Thorpe built 4 modern screens seating 400, 344, 740 and 492. In 2003 the Regent had a $1 million renovation which included new seats, digital sound systems, lighting and new interior finishes to all 4 auditoriums.
